Building Where the Tech Jobs Are

Developers and building owners spent much of last year trying to read the tea leaves as Amazon went through their HQ2 site-selection process. Billions of dollars of investment by the company and thousands of high-paying tech jobs were poised to transform whatever location was selected. Amazon surprised at least the casual observer by choosing two locations, Long Island City in Queens, NY and Arlington, VA. Let the land-rush begin.

While HQ 1 in Seattle and HQ 2.1 & 2.2 made the headlines, Amazon has many other locations around the country that experienced hiring growth in 2018.

Perhaps with a little less fanfare, Google announced it would double its New York City workforce from 7,000 to 14,000. The west coast tech giants have been steadily expanding outside of their initial headquarters geographies as they have become more established and are driven by the need to find tech talent. They have come to understand the Silicon Valley lifestyle isn’t for everyone.

Beyond these headlines the message is that tech continues to be an important part of the economy and the workforce. And the historical concentrations, where one expected tech-heavy components to the local workforce, have been expanded.

We now find tech everywhere. From Stamford, CT, the home of the hiring company Indeed.com, to Chicago’s fintech cluster,  Austin, TX, and across the country, developers and managers of rental and owned properties need to lure the tech-savvy workers with a tech-savvy living experience.

Yesterday’s tech isn’t going to cut it with today’s tech workforce. They live and work seamlessly, moving from one to the other across their devices as they move through their day. That means yesterday’s internet access isn’t going to cut if either. Developers and building owners that want to lure tech workers to their properties need to incorporate better, private, and more reliable internet service. Not cable.

That’s where we come in.

Aditum offers commercial-grade, high-speed, secure internet access with commercial-grade reliability. Custom-designed service plans that match how today’s tech worker wants their personal tech. The flexibility to distribute internet bandwidth on a per-property basis. And we haven’t even touched on the financial benefits to both owner and tenant alike.

Commercial-grade, not cable. They know better. And so should you.
