The Aditum platform provides Static IP Efficiency – Aditum uses Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) authentication for all of the tenant’s routers instead of relying on standard IP address sub-netting (RFC 950) rules. PPPoE is ideal for subscriber-based systems because, as a tunnel, only one IP address is required for each subscriber. This avoids the requirement to reserve IP addresses at the beginning and each end of the block, as well as another address for the gateway.
Using PPPoE instead of regular subnetting frees up those reserved addresses for assignment to subscribers. In some configurations, up to 75% more static IP addresses can be utilized for tenant assignment from a single address block compared to traditional methods.
Additionally, due to the declining inventory of IPv4 IP addresses around the globe, obtaining static IP address blocks can be very expensive or sometimes not available at all.
Static IP addresses are usually provided to subscribers as a premium service, and this efficiency translates directly into a greater revenue opportunity to the building manager or landlord.
Aditum is a hybrid-hosted Internet Management platform for all multi-tenant environments that allows a property manager to quickly and easily subdivide, manage, and resell one internet service connection to multiple tenants. Aditum adds a new revenue stream to a property; the internet access charges for every tenant.
